Why can’t people use a search engine?!

August 11, 2008 on 1:14 am | By advertising | In search engine |

It’s very boring in the Nintendo Wii section on Yahoo Answers…

Every single question is always the same; and it gets seriously old quick!

People are either too blind to reason that all they can do is use a search engine to solve their questions about the Nintendo Wii. Wikipedia or Google is a good freaking example!

I used to be a TC (Top Cordinator) on Yahoo Answers; yet I answer a lot in the Nintendo Wii Section. But now it’s completely boring, I just skip every question and have to go so far back as like 10 pages before I get bored and don’t answer anything!
Plus IMOA… it's like this all the freaking time! sigh!
:(

  1. Lol Every now and then some one comes on yahoo ans to ask a question about the wii then they never come back to yahoo ans again. Next another new person unknowingly asks the same question causing an endless cycle.

  2. Like the "how much is a wii" question or "where do you buy a wii points card" question yeah I get your point, another thing is people keep using the name wii when asking their question, which only attracts spammers who simply search all questions with the word wii in its title, I mean it is the wii section after all we know what console they are talking about.

Speaking of search engines theres a new one from a group of ex-google employees called cuil.

  3. Some people are of lower intellect.
Seriously, some people really are not very clever on this section!
Most people who ask questions can't read the manual, which is the first resource.
All those terrible questions, really annoy me.

  6. Haha. True. I think the same thing. There's always the same questions like "How much is the Nintendo Wii?", "What does the Wii come with?", "How much is Wii Fit?", "The Wii, Xbox 360 or Playstation?"

I always see these questions too: "Does Wii Fit actually help you lose weight?", "What game should I get?", "How much do you think I will get if I sell my Wii and these games?"

These questions need to decrease. Once in a while is okay, but I see these every three hours or so. I also agree that it will be an endless cycle, but hopefully soon, people start to use the search engine.

But even if they do keep asking, its not hurting anyone. You could get an easy two points out of those types of questions. :)
