Internet search engines not working after virus and spy-ware infections ?

August 27, 2008 on 7:01 am | By advertising | In search engine | 4 Comments

ok. so my hp laptop had a virus or some spy-ware on it. tons of spy-ware pop-ups kept showing up and my internet wasn’t working properly. the internet would pull up to direct websites like google, msn, and people but you can’t click on any of the features or search for anything. this just started happening yesterday because my internet is extremely fast. so, i used super antispyware and that didn’t do the trick…so i asked about it on yahoo answers here… after some great answers, i used avg 8.0, spy-ware doctor and ccleaner all on my computer at different times and rebooted. i did delete a whole BUNCH of stuff … the avg came up with 22,296 infections on my computer and i deleted every single one. well, the virus seems to be gone being that there are no more pop-ups but…
the google website comes up in a blink of an eye but when i try to search for something it takes a really long time and nothing comes up. additionally, when i try to go to yahoo in the address bar it doesn’t even show-up. what’s wrong with my computer what should i do now?

Can someone please help me find examples of command, market and mixed system (like countries or people)?

How many responsible breeders would advertise here?

August 26, 2008 on 8:02 am | By advertising | In advertising | 15 Comments

Just a question, in reference to a question recently deleted. Someone was looking for a rottweiler stud, and appeared to have all the answers. Titled and shown, parents were titled and shown, OFA, hip & elbow dysplasia tests, brucellosis, the whole nine yards. Apparently the studs recommended by this person’s mentor were not avaible, so the asker was looking for studs here. There seems to be a spate of questions here where people have the right answers, but do you trust that information is not just parroted back from what they’ve read–or have they “done their homework”?

So the question is:
How likely is it that a breeder of caliber would search for a dog to be bred with theirs on YA?

Thanks for the answers, that's what I thought. The asker seemed to have it all together–if so, why would they look here? Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being overly suspicious ;) Lol dreamer, yes it was a short-lived question. As soon as the responses questioned them, the question was gone.
Rosalie- agreed! It did all sound good, but it does serve as an example to show not everyone is as they seem.

Have search engines always retained search queries, or is this something new?

August 26, 2008 on 8:02 am | By advertising | In search engine | 2 Comments

Have search engines always retained search queries and entered them into public domain , or is this something new? I am thinking specifically of yahoo search assist.

Let me give you a scenario. Lets say you do a search on someone with a unique name to see if they live in a very unique town. So you enter their name plus the unique town (lets call the town “tqdwh7dejkl”). You click search but nothing comes up.

But now, when anyone else does this same search the town tqdwh7dejkl will automatically come up as soon as they start typing the persons name, which means that the original search query is not anoymous at all, which then means that this seach engine is not really anomymous,

Is this right? and if so, have search engines always made queries available to public domain, or is this new thing?

who can help me to learn about search engine?

What is a good Code to Text ratio for SEO? ?

August 26, 2008 on 7:05 am | By advertising | In search engine | 3 Comments

If a web site has a 7% code to text ratio, is that good? I know some bots calculate relevancy based on this criteria, and the higher this percentage is the better, but what’s “normal”?
