How do I delete saved entries in the search engine window?

When I go to enter a search, what ever I have searched before starting with that letter comes up in a scroll down window

  1. Click on tools,internet options.General tab clear history.Set it to auto clear in so many days if you like.On yahoo toolbar search history click the toolbar settings icon,the avatar head then click clear recent searches.
