Etrade is ok but it takes 2 weeks to open an account, share-builder is faster but expensive (14.95 a trade) taxes are not deducted you will get a statement at the end of the year, it's all done electronically, and be sure to do research and only invest in companies you know

If you want to experiment with trading stocks then you can open a free account at the website below and practice using virtual money. Which means that it won't cost you anything to practice and learn.

You have to pay transaction fees every time you buy and sell real stocks. Which means that you need to invest thousands of dollars in order to justify the trading costs. Or else you will loose money because of the transactions costs, even if your stock trading is profitable.

With only $100.00 to invest, you won't be able to experiment much. Because you will quickly loose all of your money due to transaction costs. And most brokerages probably won't let you open a stock trading account with only $100.00.
