1. Nothing wrong with it, if they are doing it in ENGLISH. If those folks haven't learned ENGLISH after a few years here, they should go home.

2. This is America where the English language is spoken. I myself consider it an insult to have everything……..tv, radio, advertisement, phone machines answering etc in spanish. Those that come here legally have no problem learning our language.

3. I agree but drug dealers also stimulate the economy like illegals do, they are both unlawful. They still broke the law no matter how nice the people are.

4. I don't have a problem with it. It's smart business to cater to a portion of the population when selling your products.

   I do, however, have a problem with government agencies using Spanish in official business. If you are going to live here, then all people from all backgrounds need to know English and English needs to be declared as the official language of the United States? Why? Becuase language is the basic and fundamental base that makes citizens of a country have soemthing in common. It provides the cohesivness of nation building and is essential for a strong national identity.

   If people from foreign countries want to live here, then they need to speak the language and our government should not be encouraging anything different.

5. I have no idea. Advertisers often target groups: women, children, seniors, African Americans, Asians, etc. Why wouldn't they produce ads targeted to Hispanics and do so IN SPANISH? I also don't see why this makes any difference to anybody else.

7. nothing wrong with it it is the advertisers choice. but running ads on mainstream networks in spanish could reduce the business they get from the rest of the people. at least from me

8. I don't think it is wrong to advertise to Hispanics, but I also don't think it should be a priority. They are in MY Country, I do not want to have to press a button to hear my phone call to customer service in English, why don't they ask, in Spanish or whatever, if they want to hear it in their language to push a button? I also want to see my grocery items in English, not any other language first. Put all the other ones underneath mine. In Mexico, if I call customer service will they ask me in English first to push a button to hear my choices in English? Doubt it! I think its the principal of the whole thing that make people bitter. And if their purchasing power is so much, I think they should learn to speak and read English!

9. 1 trillion by 2012 - I guess we know now where all the stimulus money went!

   It is just that every other immigrant group manages to learn English but spanish speakers are like perpetual special ed students.

10. Persons coming to this country legally are generally seeking to become citizens somewhere along the line. To do so they are required to learn the English language. Somewhere we have to push to keep the English language as out national language. We are being lost in Spanish. And Illegals don't pay taxes like we do. They even send money back to their homeland with no taxes charged on the transfer. Personally, I believe we should not be leaning toward favoring Spanish because of all the problems we are experiencing due to illegals. We need to enforce the laws which have been set for years and we need to update them. The biggest update should be requiring all visas to be renewed in their homeland. And they cannot go beyond being in the states for ten years without becoming citizens. Would stop a lot of this. Get rid of the illegals and Purchasing Power reverts back to the Americans. Why promote it for them? They aren't here under the law.

11. The problem is they are not doing it in English. We have immigrants from all over the world here in the US but we don't have ads or commercials in those languages (German, Italian, French, etc.)

    So, why can't Hispanics learn English like millions of other immigrants did when they came here "to get a better life"???????

13. It creates a division between ethnic groups……..I get sick of having these "differences' and the "power of' certain groups thrown in my face. If certain groups want equality………QUIT USING YOUR RACE ……..that's what I think of it.

14. the national language is English.If you mean like ingredient on the side of an cereal box then when was the last time you read it and it was also written in German,Oriental,Polish,or any other race that has a different language No its all in Spanish only.We cater to these illegals or anyone that doesn't try to learn the English language.But I guess you dont care about other races since all you ever worry about is how bad the illegals have it here.Then go back where you came from you are not wanted here.

    These monolinguist neanderthals will never understand.

    Here is another clue to them, Spanish was spoken 100 years before the first settlement in Jamestown in what is now presently the United States. It predates the english language by a century.
