Can anyone please explain me about share markets and stocks?

I dont know even the basics of it, but very eager to learn. I dont want the explanation for each and every terms used in share market. Just i want to know generally abt it in a few lines.

  1. Well a good starting place would be investopedia.com. It covers all the basics and then gets more in depth.

  2. The share market, by definition, is a place where the collective shares or shares of different companies are traded. In the share market the other forms of securities and derivatives are also sold.

    Stocks are a share of the ownership of a company. Initially, they are sold by the original owners of a company to gain additional funds to help the company grow. The owners basically sell control of the company to the stockholders. After the initial sale, the shares can be sold and resold on the stock market.
