How do you get into the Fashion Institue of Technology Advertising and Marketing Communications program?

I understand that they don’t look at your SAT scores, so would I have to create a portfolio? How does the admissions process work because I’ve found that they only accept about 40% of their applicants. Also, I feel like at this school I wouldn’t get the complete ‘college experience’, is there any way that I could attend FIT after I graduate from a 4-year University for a Masters degree or something?

FIT has a fairly informative web site, and information about the application process. If you read it, you will find that the portfolio requirement is only for art and design students. It is not required for the Advertising and Marketing Communications program.

and while they don’t consider SAT’s for acceptance, they do look at them for placement (English and Math curriculum) purposes. http://fitnyc.edu/html/admissions/HowDoIGetAdmitted/index.html
If you wanted to get a degree elsewhere and return to study at FIT they offer courses and certificates through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies

As for what counts as a complete ‘college experience’ well, that is your personal choice.
