Shouldn’t you try your best to get it out to the public. Question: Why isn’t it being advertised via Television set or radio so late in september? Why do you think so?

Do you think search engines will ever attain sentience?

A search engine’s biggest problem is that they don’t always know what the person using them is looking for and often provide excess unrelated junk. Perhaps an interactive search engine will be developed so people can communicate with it to find exactly what they’re looking for. Is it inevitable for an interactive search engine to become self aware or be programed to be self aware and with the ability to learn? Wouldn’t a sentient search engine be superior to a non sentient search engine?
If I recall Stephen Hawking’s book "The Universe in a Nutshell correctly, he said something like a one thousand dollar computer in two decades will have the complexity of the human brain (written in 2001). This prediction was based on the consistent pattern of computers doubling their computing power every 18 months.
By interactive, I had in mind where you talk to the search engine and it can understand what your saying like a person does, just with a lot more information at it’s disposal.
My question was based on materialism not dualism.
I just found out about something called Cleverbot from the Science channel. It’s a search engine that has the ability to learn and communicate with people the way people communicate with people. Basically it’s the exact kind of thing I had in mind 3 days ago, although not quite as sophisticated it has the potential to reach sentience or a later version of the cleverbot program perhaps.
