Why do most pertaining Christian faiths never advertise the kingdom of God?

March 9, 2010 on 9:36 am | By advertising | In advertising |

Why do the leaders of faiths seek human political solutions but not put faith in God’s kingdom to solve what mankind cannot. For example when the Pope speaks out about the bad things happening such as crime, terrorism, violence he never mentions the kingdom of God but demands people and politics to try and tackle the problems we face.

Why is the kingdom of God left out of hope? Do they not believe in the kingdom of God as a real kingdom of rulership that will take over or do they feel humans themselves can solve the problems without the need of God’s kingdom?

  1. (Daniel 2:44) “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

The Bible prophesied a real kingdom an everlasting kingdom that will end all human governments and install heavenly rulership over the entire earth. Could the religious leaders that rub shoulders with wordly political leaders really advetise the hope in God’s kingdom that will elimate the needs of the political elements of this world and admit that the politicians cannot do anything to truly solve the overwhelming problems. Wouldn’t make religious leaders very popular with politics.

  3. People must be converted to Christianity and brought into the Kingdom of God one at a time in a heart to heart manner. You cannot do this on a national or global basis. The Catholic Church is working toward this goal in a personal basis in every country of the world.

At the same time, the Catholic Church is also working to encourage world governments to respect human dignity and human rights on a national and global level so that the people have the opportunity to be brought into the kingdom. For example, one cannot evangelize effectively if there is no Freedom of Religion, if people are starving to death, if the sick and aged are killed or encouraged to commit suicide, or if people are treated no better than slaves.

I suggest you read the Pope’s latest cncyclical Caritatis in Veritate (Charity in Truth) in which he calls for "a profoundly new way of understanding business enterprise" and a global economic system that values the common good above private profits." http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/encyclicals/documents/hf_ben-xvi_enc_20090629_caritas-in-veritate_en.html

    With love in Christ.

  4. imacatholic seems to be at odds to what Christ taught and worked. What does he mean in a one at a time heart to hear manner and this cannot be done on a national or global basis?
This is being done on a national and global basis by Jehovah’s Witnesses. Who by the way actually teach the kingdom of God, Catholics believe the kingdom of God is a condition of heart not a literal kingdom unlike what Daniel 2:44 teaches.

He says that "one cannot evangelize effectively if there is no Freedom of Religion, if people are starving to death, if the sick and aged are killed or encouraged to commit suicide, or if people are treated no better than slaves."

Did these conditions get in the way of Jesus, the apostles and the disciples preaching the kingdom vehemently to all who were willing to listen. Jehovah’s Witnesses have actually though the human rights courts won several high profile cases for religious freedoms without having to shoulder up with the political elements of this world. The good news of the kingdom is being preached worldwide so yes it can be done and it is being done as 236 countries and lands demonstrate in hundreds of languages.

People cannot wait for the vain hope of poverty, war, sickness to be cured by political means. Only the kingdom of God can solve these problems else we would be waiting another 2000 years and God’s kingdom will not wait that long to arrive.
Jesus Christ never meddled in the political affairs of the day even though the Jewish people wanted him to be king and free them from Roman oppression but Christ said his kingdom is not of this world. This world is under the power of Satan (1John 5:19, 2 Cor 4:4) and trying to change a world which Satan influences is not what Christ commanded his followers but to proclaim the kingdom of God because the time is getting near.

(Habakkuk 2:3) For [the] vision is yet for the appointed time, and it keeps panting on to the end, and it will not tell a lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it; for it will without fail come true. It will not be late.

  5. <<Why do most pertaining Christian faiths never advertise the kingdom of God?>>

    They do.

<<Why do the leaders of faiths seek human political solutions but not put faith in God’s kingdom to solve what mankind cannot.>>

The act of engaging in politics isn’t necessarily due to a lack of Faith.

<<For example when the Pope speaks out about the bad things happening such as crime, terrorism, violence he never mentions the kingdom of God but demands people and politics to try and tackle the problems we face.>>

That’s because you’re only listening to a merely snippet of a much larger and longer statement - in which the pope mentions Faith in God MANY times.

<<Why is the kingdom of God left out of hope? Do they not believe in the kingdom of God as a real kingdom of rulership that will take over or do they feel humans themselves can solve the problems without the need of God’s kingdom?>>

I’m afraid you’re reading to much into something that just isn’t there.

Christianity teaches us to be good citizens of the various earthly countries that Christians populate. This means, among other things, participating in political system - as much as one is allowed - for the betterment of the country and it’s people.

You can judge someone, especially negatively, simply by virtue of the fact one participates in the political process. Since you can’t look into peoples’ hearts, you can’t tell the difference between those who participating in civic functions out of Faith in God or Faith in government.
