If a Square Dance is advertised, and few minorities come, does that make it a racist event?

So if a Tea Party is advertised and few minorities come, does that make the square dance organizers and attendees racist?

Or maybe because African-Americans historically vote 90% Democrat, maybe they simply choose not to attend because the Tea Party political positions don’t agree with theirs.

  2. No, it does not make it a racist event, but to small minds, they consider it a racist event.

  4. I thought the tea party said it was not defined by ‘republican - democrat’

The truth comes out! Tea party = republican hatchet job.

  5. Depends. Do the square dancers post the following signs:

  6. its not racist, its statistics, which you’ve stated. The only way it would be racist would be if the minorities weren’t allowed to come in the first place.

  7. Good point. Racism is a function of who is excluded, not who chooses to participate. This is a distinction which seems to elude the Left. Or maybe they just manufacture and repeat "talking points" that sound good to the ill informed (which includes many here at Y!A) without regard to whether they make sense.

Edit @ Wake up Stand up, above: Seriously, are those signs the best you could come up with? If those few, mild signs are an idictment of the entire Tea Party, then the Left must also own these people:

  8. How can you say that is racist. No one who advertises a Tea party know who will come along. people like yourself are too quick to play the Racist card at the slightest thing. Give it a rest.

  9. As long as the advertisement doesn’t use language that could be taken to mean to exclude minorities, no.
The same language is used when advertising civil service jobs (fire, police, etc) that minorities fail to apply for and take the written test. So, are the people who do apply and test for these positions racist?
Or just not afraid of the testing process and hard work?

  10. I don’t think they( any color) really know what being a Democrat means , if they voted just because of color this is my point, people are not looking into laws anymore they want what looks and sounds good. and thus is why america is sinking really really fast, we need someone that knows what best for the people and country and future USA
