  1. Dan, one of the best and easiest ways to do this is through godaddy.com They have tons of web site designs that are all ready to go — all you have to do is select the one with the look and format that best meets your business needs and you fill it with whatever information you like. They have helpful phone representatives who will walk you through any technical questions you may have. I imagine this sounds like an ad for their services, but I am only mentioning them because I have used them now for about 3 years and have been very happy. As a complete amateur I had never done anything like it before but I get tons of compliments on how nice my site is. Hope this is helpful. Good luck!

  2. I also agree with the GoDaddy recommendation and also recommend Hostgator as well. I use them both and when first starting out both companies have excellent site builder tools that are very user friendly. There are also a ton of free tutorials on how to use and set up WordPress blogs as well and they are great for generating pure organic traffic since Google seems to love them.
Hope this helps you and good luck.

  3. How you obtain visitors to the site will end up the bigger issue in the long run. Using free blog hosts like blogger or wordpress.com cold get your feet wet, write 6 - 10 original articles, add them a couple a week and the site may attract a little free search traffic.

A paid hosting site, probably overkill for simple promo cost around $90/year, with your own domain name you could pay for advertising only when a visitor within some specified miles of your local clicks the per visit cost often ranges $0.50 to $2.00.

  5. You should look into Office Live Small Business. The tools are almost exclusively based in the cloud. You can choose your own domain name. You get your own @yourname.com email address. You get template-based web building tools. And, it’s extremely inexpensive.

Here are some customer testimonials from folks who’ve had great success using Office Live Small Business: http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/en-us/customer-gallery.

    Hope this helps!
