How do I prevent the Search Engines from downgrading my site which has duplicate content?

I am going to be creating several landing pages marketing the same product on my website. The overall message and text is going to be mostly the same on all the landing pages. I would just like to change the colors and looks on all the pages to see which one gets better sales. How would I go about putting all the pages live on the same .com site without the search engines seeing this as duplicate content and downgrade my site because of it?

How to determine the budget for marketing?

My net profit for selling product is US $2000 monthly, and I would like to do some marketing to promote product, but I have no idea how much budget to plan for activities based on the percentage of net profit. Without knowing the successful rate on marketing, how to determine the percentage of income to spend on marketing for minimizing cost (marketing) and maximizing profit (selling more products)? At this moment, I get no idea the successful rate on each marketing media, so I need to try and find it out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is This How Google Search Engine Works?

For instance…If I was to have a website entitled "www.houseman.com"..thus it was
getting mecca results…you know, bucket loads of views…Now with this at hand, If I
was to type in "House" Would my site be one of the first results? Is it therefor explained that
keywords are based on hits…Ie; Considering a website has the word "House" within it’s structure and is getting as many hits and views as facebook..it’ll be within the first page of results whilst typing in "House" on Google search, correct??

(Oh, I know that this question sounds silly..though just would like to know whether I am getting at the right idea here! :D)

SEO for my home page - Confused?

My provider have given me a list of 20 keywords that are most searched for relating to my product. They said include this in the meta tag on each of my pages. Im a little confused…I know I need to optimise my page for maybe 2-3 keyword or keyword phrases, but if I have 20 keywords, can I include the full 20 in my metatag on the home page, and then just use 2-3 out of this list to optimise my home page for?

Any then for the other pages on my website..pageA, b and C etc..Do I copy the same 20 keywords into the metatags, but then choose totally seperate keywords from that list in order to optimise the next particular page depending on what my page is actually about.

Hi John, thanks for your advice. I dont have a specialised SEO offering from them, its more of an advice following their analysis. Before going back and asking I thought I would see what advice I could get from here. I heard about the lack of keyword metatag use by the search engines as I have been researching heavily on SEO.
